Goonumbla solar farm powers up in New South Wales"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 67.8MW Goonumbla solar farm, developed by i<span lang=\"EN-GB\">nternational <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alj.com\/en\/energy-and-environmental-services\/energy-overview\/\">renewable energy<\/a> company FRV near Parkes in New South Wales, has begun sending power to the grid.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to Global Roam\u2019s Paul McArdle, the providers of RenewEconomy\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reneweconomy.com.au\/nem-watch\/\">NEM-Watch widget,<\/a> said the solar farm had sent short bursts of around 1MW of power to the NEM on Tuesday and Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Goonumbla is one of eight wind and solar projects that formed part of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reneweconomy.com.au\/snowy-hydro-smashes-price-benchmarks-for-fair-dinkum-wind-and-solar-75417\/\">landmark deal for cheap and \u201cfirmed\u201d renewables for government-owned retailer Snowy Hydro.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The 15-year power purchase deal will provide a total of 888MW of capacity to Snowy Hydro, which it turn aims to deliver \u2013 with the help of its existing hydro plants \u2013 \u201cfirm\u201d renewables at a cost of well below $70\/MWh.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/frv.com\/en\/#\">FRV<\/a>, now part of the Saudi-based corporation Abdul Latif Jameel,\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/reneweconomy.com.au\/frv-lands-finance-for-goonumbla-solar-farm-to-deliver-cheap-power-to-snowy-11835\/\">said last year<\/a>\u00a0that it expected the Goonumbla solar farm to have capacity factor of around 33 per cent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":16781,"template":"","tags":[],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized
