{"id":103571,"date":"2022-10-26T13:28:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-26T13:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alj.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=103571"},"modified":"2022-10-27T04:45:39","modified_gmt":"2022-10-27T04:45:39","slug":"abdul-latif-jameel-energys-frv-to-acquire-two-new-battery-energy-storage-projects-in-the-uk","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/alj.com\/en\/news\/abdul-latif-jameel-energys-frv-to-acquire-two-new-battery-energy-storage-projects-in-the-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"Abdul Latif Jameel Energy\u2019s FRV to acquire two new battery energy storage projects in the UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>FRV has announced the acquisition of two battery energy storage projects (BESS) both located in in the Midlands<\/li>\n<li>Each plant will generate up to 50MW of energy adding up to 100MW<\/li>\n<li>The projects are scheduled to enter the ready-to-build phase during the third quarter of 2023<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/frv.com\/\">Fotowatio Renewable Ventures<\/a>, a leading developer of sustainable energy solutions, and part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alj.com\/en\/energy-and-environmental-services\/energy-overview\/\">Abdul Latif Jameel Energy<\/a>, has announced the acquisition of two battery energy storage projects located in the Midlands.<\/p>\n<p>The portfolio was acquired from RE Projects Development Limited (REPD), a leading developer of utility scale solar and battery projects in the UK, who is the originator and the developer of the projects. Each project covers a total of 1.01 hectares.\u00a0 It is scheduled to enter the ready-to-build phase during the third quarter of 2023.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tylerhillrenewables.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tyler Hill Renewables<\/a>, a UK headquartered renewable energy company, that sourced this opportunity for FRV, is also assisting in the development process.<\/p>\n<p>The projects will consist of two lithium-ion battery storage systems totaling a combined capacity of up to 100MW, which will allow importing and exporting energy connected to the distribution network. All of these projects equal 340 MW, which added to the 1 GW recently announced after creating <a href=\"https:\/\/frv.com\/en\/frv-and-tyler-hill-partners-join-to-create-frv-th-powertek-limited-and-develop-up-to-1gw-in-bess-in-the-uk\/\">FRV TH Powertek Limited<\/a>, a joint venture between FRV
