{"id":103754,"date":"2022-11-07T09:22:26","date_gmt":"2022-11-07T09:22:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alj.com\/?post_type=news&#038;p=103754"},"modified":"2023-02-06T06:01:55","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T06:01:55","slug":"abdul-latif-jameel-energys-frv-acquires-majority-stake-in-one-of-the-largest-battery-energy-storage-systems-in-greece","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/alj.com\/en\/news\/abdul-latif-jameel-energys-frv-acquires-majority-stake-in-one-of-the-largest-battery-energy-storage-systems-in-greece\/","title":{"rendered":"Abdul Latif Jameel Energy\u2019s FRV acquires majority stake in one of the largest battery energy storage systems in Greece"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>FRV acquires a majority stake in a 600 Megawatts (MW) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Greece<\/li>\n<li>The project is divided into several facilities under development by Wootis<\/li>\n<li>It is one of the largest commercially operated BESS in Greece\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/frv.com\/\">Fotowatio Renewable Ventures<\/a>, a leading developer of sustainable energy solutions, and part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alj.com\/en\/energy-and-environmental-services\/energy-overview\/\">Abdul Latif Jameel Energy<\/a>, has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in a 600 Megawatts (MW) battery energy storage system (BESS) in Greece.<\/p>\n<p>The project, which is currently under development by Wootis, will come to fruition between Q4 2023 and Q2 2024 and will combine FRV\u2019s deep knowledge in the BESS technology with Wootis\u2019s extensive experience in the Greek development environment.<\/p>\n<p>Wootis SA is one of the pioneering Greek companies in the renewable energy industry. Specializing in asset management, it offers integrated services to operating renewable energy stations. With one of the largest and most sophisticated monitoring centers in Europe, in operation since 2015, Wootis provides integrated technical and commercial management and aggregation services, as well as maintenance and operation services at wind and photovoltaic (PV) stations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/alj.com\/en\/our-people\/fady-jameel\/\">Fady Jameel<\/a>, Deputy President and Vice Chairman of Abdul Latif Jameel said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201c<em>Greece has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to achieving its target of doubling the country\u2019s green\u00a0<\/em><em>energy<\/em><em>\u00a0capacity by 2030, which we are excited to take part in with this project.
