The Family Business Council \u2013 Gulf (FBCG),<\/a> a private not-for-profit organization aiming to strengthen family business governance and ensure their continuity over generations in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, announced its new leadership in Doha, Qatar. \u00a0Sheikha Hind Bahwan<\/a> has been appointed as Chairman, and our own Deputy President & Vice Chairman, Abdul Latif Jameel<\/a>, Hassan Jameel<\/a> assumes the role of Vice Chairman.<\/p>\n

This new leadership transition reflects FBCG\u2019s mission to lead by example, demonstrating how family businesses can navigate succession while remaining rooted in values of collaboration, resilience, and service to the community.<\/p>\n

Family businesses are a vital pillar of the GCC\u2019s economy, accounting for 90% of the private sector, contributing 60% of the region\u2019s GDP, and employing over 80% of its workforce. \u00a0However, many face challenges during generational transitions, with research showing only 33% of family businesses in the region have a robust, documented, and communicated succession plan, compared to 55% globally.<\/p>\n
