Almar Water Solutions<\/a> recently hosted Fady Jameel<\/a>, Vice Chairman, International, Abdul Latif Jameel<\/a> during his first visit to one of their flagship projects, the Centinela Water System<\/a> in Antofagasta in Chile.<\/p>\n

Fady Jameel was welcomed by Mauricio Ortiz, Chief Financial Officer of Antofagasta Minerals<\/a>, the project\u2019s end client, and was accompanied during the site visit by senior representatives of the project, including Santiago Mart\u00ednez<\/a>, Chief Operating Officer, Asset Management at Almar Water Solutions; Arturo Err\u00e1zuriz, Chairman of Almar Water Solutions Chile and Francisco Rodr\u00edguez, CEO of the SPV Aguas Esperanza.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The visit focused primarily on the ongoing construction of the project\u2019s expansion, also known as \u201cSistema de Impulsi\u00f3n de Agua de Mar II\u201d (SIAM II).<\/p>\n

Developed to serve Antofagasta Minerals<\/a>, one of the world’s leading copper producers, the Centinela Water System is a key industrial infrastructure project that ensures a reliable and sustainable water supply for mining operations in the heart of Chile\u2019s Atacama Desert.<\/p>\n

The dual pipeline system will ultimately transport 167,011 m\u00b3\/day of seawater (110,678 m\u00b3\/day from SIAM I and 56,333 m\u00b3\/day from SIAM II) from Michilla Port to the Centinela Mining District, located 144 kilometers inland at an altitude of 2,220 meters above sea level, without drawing from scarce freshwater resources.<\/p>\n
