Bab Rizq Jameel<\/a> in partnership with MIT Enterprise Forum has announced a call for participation for the second edition of the \u2018Arab World Meets Silicon Valley<\/a>\u2019 program, also known as Global Track. \u00a0Fifteen companies will be selected to travel to Silicon Valley, USA, to take part in the program which will run from September 20 \u2013 27, 2015, as part of the MITEF Arab Startup Competition<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The program offers entrepreneurs in the Arab region an opportunity to benefit from best-in-class training and mentorship from world leading industry experts, and to potentially attract investors to their companies.<\/p>\n

Between September 21 and 23, 2015, participating entrepreneurs will have the chance to showcase their companies at the Arab Pavilion at the annual TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco conference, benefiting from optimal exposure in front of guest speakers, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs from around the globe. Participants will also take part in the Investors and Pitch day \u2013 pitching their companies to international investors to receive live feedback and attract potential investments. Other events during the week include meetings and matchmaking with top mentors, workshops and a Techwadi Forum, a platform designed to build bridges between Silicon Valley and the Middle East and North Africa region, as well as a gala dinner.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the announcement, Fady Jameel<\/a>, President of Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives (Community Jameel) <\/a>International said: \u201cAt Community Jameel, we are continually impressed with the quality of entrepreneurial initiatives in the Arab region and we are always keen to support them \u2013 whether through education, training, mentorship, creating links, or opening doors for investment. The Global Track of The MIT Enterprise Forum Arab Startup Competition allows connections to be made between talent and the hub of innovation Silicon Valley is. We look forward to receiving applications for this year\u2019s competition and we are confident that, year on year, we will continue to provide unimaginable opportunities for some of the best creative talent in our region.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hala Fadel, MIT Enterprise Forum Chair, added: \u201cThe Global Track creates a bridge between our region and Silicon Valley. We are running the program for the second consecutive year with the support of Techwadi, LebNet, Google for Entrepreneurs and other leading organizations in the U.S. Qualifying Arab companies will benefit from interaction, feedback, and connections that they will build with local venture capitalists and successful entrepreneurs\u201d.<\/p>\n
