{"id":39543,"date":"2019-06-24T07:12:48","date_gmt":"2019-06-24T07:12:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.alj.com\/news\/jordan-students-benefit-frv-scholarships\/"},"modified":"2019-10-30T10:30:10","modified_gmt":"2019-10-30T10:30:10","slug":"jordan-students-benefit-frv-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/alj.com\/en\/news\/jordan-students-benefit-frv-scholarships\/","title":{"rendered":"Jordan students to benefit from FRV scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/frv.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV)<\/a> has signed an agreement with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ie.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University Instituto de Empresa (IE)<\/a> in Spain to enable two students from Jordan to study at the university.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement, part of FRV\u2019s commitment to developing communities in which it operates, will see the creation of two scholarships at IE, in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and French sustainable development organization, Proparco.<\/p>\n<p>One of the scholarships has been awarded to student Sarah Riyad al Atiyat, who began her studies in September 2016.  The second will be awarded for the academic year 2017-2018.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/196384761?title=0&#038;byline=0&#038;portrait=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"361\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The grants, called \u2018Young Talented Leaders Scholarships\u2019, follow FRV\u2019s investment in two solar energy projects in Jordan (Jordan I and Jordan II) of 65 MWp each.<\/p>\n<p>As well as FRV CEO Rafael Benjumea and President of IE Business School Diego del Alc\u00e1zar, attendees at the signing ceremony included the Ambassador of Jordan to Spain, His Excellency Mr Ghassam Abdel Rahim Odeh Majali, and representatives from Abdul Latif Jameel, which acquired FRV in 2015, EBRD and Proparco.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alj.com\/app\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Hand_Shake_Picture.png\" alt=\"hand_shake_picture\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alj.com\/app\/uploads\/2019\/06\/Hand_Shake_Picture.png 220w, https:\/\/alj.com\/ar\/openingdoors\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/Hand_Shake_Picture-179x133.png 179w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 220px) 100vw, 220px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Rafael Benjumea, CEO of FRV, said: <em>\u201cThis agreement delivers on one of our top  priorities as a business, which is to help develop the communities in which we operate.
