energy for 40,000 homes in Jordan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another 40,000 Jordanian homes are set to be powered by clean energy after Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) &#8211;\u00a0 part of Abdul Latif Jameel Energy &#8211;\u00a0 secured financing for its third major solar project in Jordan.<\/p>\n<p>The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) will provide a US$ 65 million loan for the development of the Al-Safawi solar plant.<\/p>\n<p>The 51 MW plant, which is expected to generate 240 jobs during its construction, will spread over 170 hectares and use more than 200,000 crystalline photovoltaic (PV) panels.<\/p>\n<p>Roberto De Diego Arozamena, Chief Executive Officer of Abdul Latif Jameel Energy, said: \u201cAbdul Latif Jameel Energy has been leading the way on developing solar projects in the region, and our work in Jordan is part of that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe remain committed to being the leading solar PV development company in the Middle East and beyond, and contributing to the generation of clean and affordable energy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Al-Safawi plant follows Abdul Latif Jameel Energy\u2019s Mafraq I and II projects.\u00a0 When the Al-Safawi plant is complete, Abdul Latif Jameel Energy will supply 435 million kWh of electricity each year in Jordan, powering a total of
