Education and the accumulation of knowledge has been fundamental to the rise of humanity and has since been prized as the key necessary pillar for an individual, or indeed a nation, to achieve economic independence through productivity.<\/p>\n
Today, there are currently 1.8 billion young people aged between 10 and 24 years old in our World \u2013 the largest youth population to ever have existed.<\/p>\n
However \u2013 alarmingly \u2013 education remains inaccessible to millions of these young people: 72 million children of primary age are not in school[1]<\/a>; 759 million young adults are illiterate and do not have the access or opportunity to improve either their own living conditions or those of their children[2]<\/a>.<\/p>\n Accessible and inclusive education is pivotal to achieving sustainable development and plays a crucial role in supporting the progress of all Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/a> adopted by all United Nations Member States.<\/p>\n
