Deux initiatives notables sont:<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9cup\u00e9ration de l\u2019eau dans l\u2019air: mise au point d\u2019une technologie permettant d\u2019extraire de l\u2019air une eau propre et fra\u00eeche, quelles que soient les conditions d\u2019humidit\u00e9, au moyen d\u2019un mat\u00e9riau poreux sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>\nAm\u00e9lioration de la production agricole: cr\u00e9ation d&#8217;un dispositif \u00e0 \u00e9nergie solaire pour convertir l&#8217;azote atmosph\u00e9rique, l&#8217;eau et la lumi\u00e8re du soleil en ammoniac, qui peut \u00eatre ajout\u00e9 au sol pour favoriser la croissance des plantes.<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/alj.com\/en\/our-people\/fady-jameel\/\">Fady Mohammed Jameel<\/a>, pr\u00e9sident de Community Jameel International, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9: \u00abLa communaut\u00e9 Jameel est fermement convaincue que la recherche men\u00e9e par le MIT peut apporter de r\u00e9elles solutions pour aider les communaut\u00e9s \u00e0 se transformer. Avec le partenariat de Community Jameel, le MIT offre la possibilit\u00e9 de s\u2019attaquer aux probl\u00e8mes les plus urgents li\u00e9s \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et \u00e0 la salubrit\u00e9 de l\u2019alimentation et de l\u2019eau au Moyen-Orient et dans le monde. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p>John Lienhard, professeur Abdul Latif Jameel en mati\u00e8re d\u2019eau et d\u2019alimentation au MIT, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9: \u00abNous devons continuer \u00e0 faire progresser les innovations et les id\u00e9es cr\u00e9atives pour fournir des aliments s\u00fbrs et s\u00e9curis\u00e9s et des sources d\u2019eau propre et renouvelable. Gr\u00e2ce aux technologies innovantes et aux collaborations que nous soutenons dans le cadre de ces nouveaux projets de recherche, J-WAFS s\u2019efforce de garantir l\u2019avenir de nos communaut\u00e9s, la durabilit\u00e9 de nos villes et la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 de nos \u00e9conomies face \u00e0 la croissance d\u00e9mographique, \u00e0 une urbanisation accrue, et le climat changeant. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Au Moyen-Orient et en Afrique du Nord (MENA) &#8211; la r\u00e9gion la plus aride du monde &#8211; plus de la moiti\u00e9 de la population de la r\u00e9gion vit dans des conditions de \u00abstress hydrique\u00bb, o\u00f9 la demande d\u00e9passe l\u2019offre, selon la Banque mondiale.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis 2015, J-WAFS a soutenu plusieurs projets de recherche visant \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et la s\u00fbret\u00e9 de l&#8217;alimentation en eau et des aliments. Dans un projet pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent, la mod\u00e9lisation environnementale \u00e9tait utilis\u00e9e pour comprendre la contamination par le mercure dans le riz, une voie \u00e9mergente d&#8217;exposition au mercure pour les personnes vivant dans des zones contamin\u00e9es par l&#8217;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 au charbon et d&#8217;autres activit\u00e9s industrielles. Un autre projet a abouti \u00e0 la conception de zones humides construites pouvant r\u00e9duire le ruissellement des eaux pluviales et am\u00e9liorer la fonction \u00e9cologique des syst\u00e8mes
