Women across the world of Abdul Latif Jameel have come together in a new video to celebrate and recognize the United Nations International Women’s Day 2021.

In line with this year’s global theme, more than 30 colleagues raised their hands, promising that they #ChooseToChallenge, in a bid to raise awareness of gender equality, empowerment, equal rights, and diversity.

With submissions from China, Spain, Lithuania, Tunisia, Turkey, India, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, and the UK, the messages were truly global, and yet unified with one central sentiment.

Sultana Abdulmoghny Yahya Al Amri, General Manager – Happiness, Human Resources, Abdul Latif Jameel Enterprises made the statement:  I choose to challenge because being a pioneer and successful female role model in happiness will help us achieve the Saudi Vision 2030.”

In China, Zhou Jun 周隽, Abdul Latif Jameel China Operations GM, added: “I choose to challenge because the most important kind of freedom is to be who you really are.”

Blanca Benjumea from Abdul Latif Jameel’s flagship renewables business FRV in Spain said: “I choose to challenge because together, we can create an inclusive world,”

While in Turkey, Nergis Bekdemir, Strategic Corporate Communication and Planning Unit Supervisor at Toyota Turkey added: “I choose to challenge inequalities in all forms that hinder the growth and success of women.”

Supporting the messages was Fady Jameel, Deputy President and Vice Chairman, who added his contribution:

“I choose to challenge us all to value every individual’s contribution equally.”
