Spain-based Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), part of Abdul Latif Jameel Energy, has commissioned a 15-MWh lithium-ion battery storage system in the UK.
The project was implemented in partnership with local renewables developer Harmony Energy as part of FRV’s long-term investment plan to develop energy storage worldwide.
Located at Holes Bay in Dorset, the system uses six lithium-ion batteries supplied by Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) and its Autobidder AI software. The facility is connected to the Southern Electric Power distribution network, providing flexibility to the grid.
