Bab Rizq Jameel starts operations in Turkey
In line with Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives, a new Bab Rizq Jameel branch was recently inaugurated in Istanbul, Turkey. Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, Chief Job Creator at Bab Rizq Jameel, inaugurated the new branch in the presence of the Istanbul Deputy Mayor, Head of Security Department in Istanbul and other senior officials and businessmen. Abdul Latif Jameel opened the Bab Rizq Jameel branch in Istanbul in line with its policy to launch social responsibility initiatives in countries in which Abdul Latif Jameel is operating. Last year, Abdul Latif Jameel has acquired Toyota Turkey, and today it is opening the first Bab Rizq Jameel branch there.
After cutting the opening ribbon, Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel toured the new branch, after which Dr. Fatih Mehmet Gul gave a presentation about Bab Rizq Jameel activities, announcing that it is planning to help create 5,000 job opportunities during 2011. Dr. Gul stated both public and private sectors are cooperating with Bab Rizq Jameel. Experimental operation of the branch was started last month in the area of training ending with employment and direct employment. Meanwhile, Bab Rizq Jameel is in the middle of a negotiation and coordination process with a local bank to finance the microfinance program.
Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel was pleased with opening the new branch in Istanbul. He extended thanks and appreciation to the Government authorities in Turkey for supporting this initiative.
Recently, Abdul Latif Jameel Community Initiatives celebrated the closure of the 1001 Inventions exhibition in Istanbul, which was visited by more than 400,000 visitors within its 2-month display period.
