Carlos Cosín is the Chief Executive Officer of Almar Water Solutions, part of Abdul Latif Jameel Energy a division of Abdul Latif Jameel, a collective of independent international, family-owned and diversified businesses, founded in 1945 by the late Abdul Latif Jameel.
Carlos leads the operations and development of Almar Water Solutions to drive its success and growth in the sector.
Mr. Cosín has 25 years of experience in the water industry, including the development of desalination, wastewater, and reuse projects around the world for both municipal and industrial sectors. During this time, he closed agreements under both EPC (Engineering-Procurement-Construction) and BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) models.
Mr. Cosín graduated in Agricultural Engineering from the Madrid Polytechnic University. In addition to his prominent role as CEO of Almar Water Solutions, Carlos served as President of the International Desalination Association (IDA) 2019 to 2022.
Carlos Cosín also serves as President of the Center for Water & Climate Adaptation at IE University, advocating for programs that build future water industry professionals, recognizing that education is critical to address the challenges of sustainable water management and climate change. Carlos speaks Spanish and English.
