A news article in Egyptian daily newspaper Al Borsa reports that the country is betting on improving the infrastructure for electric cars in order to achieve its climate goals.  This is especially relevant because the transportation sector is responsible for some 24% of the total carbon dioxide emissions in Egypt resulting from fuel combustion, while land transportation alone is responsible for 95% of all emissions related to transportation. ‬

Mohamed Farid, General Manager of Sales, Jameel Motors, the agent of Ford and GAC cars in Egypt, is among the experts quoted in the article, who states that the company is considering introducing two electric car models to the Egyptian market during the second half of 2025.
