Abdul Latif Jameel Energy’s FRV takes part in Spanish government supported event to recognize HyVus joint initiative
Abdul Latif Jameel Energy’s renewable energy business FRV has taken part in an event to recognize the HyVus project, a joint initiative with its partners Vectalia, Iberdola, and Aquas de Alicante, for the promotion of green hydrogen.
The event was attended by Luis Barcala, Mayor of Alicante, Spain; Rafael Climent, Minister of Sustainable Economy’ and Maria Perez, Regional Secretary of the Ministry of Mobility, alongside Amparo Navarro, Rector of the Alicante City University. The attendees all expressed their support for the circular economy project, that includes the generation of green hydrogen to power some of the Vectalia bus fleet, as well as vehicles from other operators, all of which contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions.
Felipe Hernandez, Managing Director, FRV-X was joined at the event by Antonio Arias, CEO and Vice President of Vectalia; Millán García-Tola, Global Director of Hydrogen at Iberdrola; and Javier Díez, General Director, Aguas de Alicante.
Since inception, HyVus has been an inclusive and open project seeking to incorporate new strategic alliances with organizations at the forefront of the green hydrogen value chain transformation, from generation and production to end users. This is a unique public-private collaboration, where both sectors jointly promote sustainable mobility for passengers and goods. HyVus positions Alicante at the forefront of European cities deploying innovative solutions for decarbonizing public transport. The project will also involve investment of over € 10m and create ongoing employment.
