In another example of adopting pioneering technology and pushing innovative boundaries, Toyota Turkey has become the first brand in the country’s automotive industry, and the first in Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, to host its annual strategy meeting on the metaverse platform.

With more than 100 people attending, including Toyota Turkey’s own associates, service providers third party agencies, and suppliers, Toyota Turkey’s online virtual world came to life through augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), 3D holographic avatars, videos and other varied communication tools.

The metaverse has become the latest buzzword in technology, with many questioning what it can do for everyday life and in business, and what impact it will have on the way people communicate.  In its most basic definition, the metaverse is a digital reality that can combine aspects of social media, online gaming, augmented reality, virtual reality, and cryptocurrencies to allow users to interact virtually. AR reality overlays visual elements, sound, and other sensory input onto real-world settings to enhance the user experience.  In contrast, VR is entirely virtual and enhances fictional realities.

As the metaverse grows, it will create online spaces where user interactions are more multidimensional than current technology supports.  Instead of simply viewing digital content, users in the metaverse will be able to immerse themselves in a space where the digital and physical worlds converge.

Ali Haydar Bozkurt, President & Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Latif Jameel Turkey said: “This was significant and exciting moment in our history at Toyota Turkey as we brought more than 100 people to life, virtually, from across the country.  It’s important that we continue to adopt new technology, understand how we can utilize innovations and apply them to our working practices.  Congratulations to the team and all participants who embraced the metaverse wholeheartedly.  I look forward to experience more digital platforms soon.”

This latest advance continues Toyota Turkey’s innovative approach having previously pioneered the implementation of different digital channels for Interactive Showroom, Digital Dealer, Toyota HazirCevap Hearing and Visually Impaired customer guests.
