Abdul Latif Jameel Energy’s renewable energy business FRV has energized its 34 MW energy storage project, Contego, in West Sussex, UK, which is now live and feeding energy into the UK Power Networks distribution grid.

One of the largest battery energy storage plants in the UK with a capacity of 68 MW, Contego is evidence of FRV’s commitment in the development and deployment of the UK’s strategic sustainable energy program.

Using 28 Tesla Megapack lithium-ion batteries, and the Tesla Autobidder AI software which provides real-time trading and control, Contego continues FRV’s expansion in the energy storage sector by being one of the most advanced and innovative systems in the country.
